Barcelona’s lengthy search for a new pivot seems to have concluded with the arrival of Hansi Flick as head coach.
The club has been linked with numerous players following Sergio Busquets’ departure, but it now appears that the search has ended.
According to Diario Sport, Flick has determined that Barcelona does not need to bring in a new pivot, as he is satisfied with the current squad.
Flick believes the position is well-covered, especially with Marc Bernal set to return from a long-term knee injury. The coach also has Marc Casado, Eric Garcia, and Andreas Christensen as options, with Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, and Fermin Lopez expected to bolster the midfield once they regain full fitness.
The report further notes that while Deco had considered Chelsea players Romeo Lavia and Carney Chukwuemeka, Flick is keen to stick with his current roster.
