Synopsis: The Oscars award, a ceremony that recognizes and highlights the cinematic achievement of the film industry was first presented in 1929, and was first telecast in 1953. India started forwarding the Indian cinema’s work only in the year 1957. Till date only three Indian movies had made to the final nominations- Mother India (1957), Salaam Bombay (1989), and Lagaan (2001). It is a big surprise to many of the Indian fans when they don’t see their favourite movies making it to the Oscars. An industry that produces over 1500 movies each year, fails at Oscars.
